Is it always worth the wait?

So, I know it's been a hot minute since I last uploaded something. [Guys, masters is not easy!!!] Anyway, a few days back I put up a question on Instagram asking what should I write next. And to my surprise, some people did reply and I'll be writing on the suggested topics in the forthcoming blog posts.

No matter how lucky you think other people are ( or if you even think of yourself as one ) I am sure that almost all of us have different ambitions, some we fulfill, some change with time and some we fail at.

But what's the exact moment when you just know that "Fuck. Yes, It's done. It's over. I failed" and you ask yourself. "So, it was all for nothing, huh?"

Let's say you wanted to get this job profile at your dream company, you worked hard, scored well, did extra stuff to build up a good CV, you feel like you've given all of you to get this very thing but you still didn't get it. You move on, apply for the second best option, fail again and again and again and again. [ *inserts a for loop for a geeky reference* ]

People tell you to be patient, give it some time, it will be worth the wait. Maybe it will be once you finally get something or you'll end up regretting that you sacrificed so much to achieve what you have achieved and it's all for nothing.

You have a favorite singer and you have been waiting for them to release their new album for years now. It's out, it receives mixed reactions. some people loved it while some not really. But was it worth the wait for you?

For years, you surround yourself with people thinking you'll eventually fit in but you don't. until you really find people who care about you and who you care about. Was it worth the wait? Or is it too late and you're too isolated now?!

GAME OF THRONES, people waited for 2 years for the final season and I guess, If you're not living under a rock, you know how people reacted when it was finally out. I was kinda satisfied with it but a lot of people weren't. There are still so many unanswered questions and I understand why people were so disappointed. But was it worth the wait for me? YEASSS!

I don't want to go into the whole idea of one-sided relationships if it's okay to wait for someone even if you know there's no chance of you to be with them.. rather save it for a separate post.

But the point is, there's no specific answer to this question. The way I see it, there are different situations where different people react differently. To all the situations above, some people would feel it was indeed worth the wait while others would feel otherwise.

There will be times in your life when you'll feel it wasn't worth the wait but you wouldn't know until you go through the whole process of it and decide it for yourself. Even if it turns out to be unworthy, you'd know better for the next time.
